Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the difference between black and green tea?

Though black and green teas come from the same plant, green tea is not fermented before the leaves are dried. Therefore, it retains more of its anti-oxidants and contains less caffeine than black tea.

What is oolong tea?

Oolong tea, also know as wulong or wu long tea, is a semi-oxidised traditional Chinese tea. Oolong tea has a taste best described as somewhwere between that of green tea and black tea. The word oolong means "black dragon" in Chinese.

What makes China’s Secret teas different from other Chinese teas?

Most consumers’ experience of Chinese tea is the bitter black tea served in restaurants, or the green tea leaf dregs sold in supermarket tea bags. But there is a whole range of high-grade Chinese teas that the West is largely unaware of. China’s Secret teas are authentic, hand-crafted, and of the highest quality available, offering the great taste of loose-leaf teas without the mess or hassle.

What are the health benefits of green tea?

The secret of green tea lies in its powerful anti-oxidants, known to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Anti-oxidants may also lower cholesterol and help control blood pressure, and over time, the risk of heart disease. They even help protect the liver against toxins in alcohol and cigarettes.

Where can I find China’s Secret teas?

China’s Secret can be found in specialist delis, luxury department stores, in fine restaurants, and via this website.
